Why such a late post???

Well the neighboring Ute tribe have a dance called a bear dance. In the summer it is done in Colorado once to wake up the bear. Then this past weekend including tomorrow the Utah Ute tribe does the bear dance to make the bear go to sleep. Now you would think if we were trying to make the bear go to sleep then it would be quite music and slow dance. This is what I thought at least, well it is quite on the contrary actually it is loud music and fast or slow dancing depending on the age of your partner.

Well the ladies of all ages pick out the guy who they want to dance the song with. The guys go sit on a bench near the singers and patiently wait to be chosen. I sat through the first two or three songs then was chosen. I ended up dancing so much that my legs burn and I'm really tired but for some can't go to sleep. So I figured, "Hey why not write a blog right now!!!" so that is what I'm doing. It was quite fun and I do believe since I can't sleep that I will go ahead and get started on some of the work that I need to do tomorrow. In order that I can go dancing at the bear dance again tomorrow. The interesting thing about this dance is you can be chosen by several girls at once, yes for the same dance. The most I danced with tonight was two.

Now for those who picture beligaana' dancing (that white people dancing) it's nothing like this so don't be worried. You hold on to her shoulder which is cover by a shawl over her traditional regalia. Then she holds onto your wrist and you waist then you put your other hand on her hand and the dance is quite simple. You stay on your toes most of the time but its just a back and forth walking type motion for that one song.

Well since I had an eventful night I will continue it with painting the new church/ preschool sign that I have been working on.

Also while at this dance I couldn't help but not be a missionary I met a young LDS man who asked where I was from. So I explained AIM to him, he thought it was cool. Asked if I would like to go on an LDS mission I told him not at this time (being polite) and he asked if I would be willing to study with him. I said most definitly and we exchanged numbers. I ask for prayers for this to go smoothly and for the both of us to grow more in knowledge about GOD and the Bible. Yes I did tell him that I would want to share my faith and bible with him also. He agreed so I said let's study and encourage each other. He told me I wasn't like a lot of "church of CHRIST" people he's met. I told him that that is because I think we can all gain from each other and that actually most church of CHRIST people would actually agree with me. I ask for prayeres for this young man's mind to be opened not just his heart and feelings that he is judging his faith on right now. Also pray for the knowledge that I have to be on the tip of my tongue, in my heart and my mind at all times. I truly experienced what it means to be ready in season and out of season, not sure I was as ready as I could have been but then again will we ever be????

Peace and grace to you my brethren from our LORD and SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST!!!!

I am going to attempt to respond to this post one more time. I so wish I could have been there to have experienced this with you. So opposite than our standards isn't it? In our world the man makes the move. So have your legs recouped? Isn't if funny how we can be so tired but still not able to sleep. How do you keep up with dancing with more than one partner? I don't know that I could. So did you get all your work finished tht night? Did you get any sleep? How about the preschool sign? Just think the things you do now for those young'uns will influence them in their walk for the REST of their lives. Weird to think isn't it? How exciting to have run into this young man at that dance. Have the two of you been able to get together since then and study? To be ready in season and out of season? Will we ever be? I don't think so son! It takes us a lifetime to try and get it only for our life to be done "POOF" just a vapor. But we can continually strive cant we? I think we can be ready only as much as we ourselves allow us to be! It's all in our freewill and the choice is ours. Isn't it? Again, I appreciate your blog and being able to come and get updated in your works of OUR LORD! Thanks for being someone we can be proud of. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers always Miss you much but love you more Dad and mamma
